Valentines Projects

I love Valentines Day and Kelsie has come home with so many cute art projects this week. Here are some of them... Gay wanted to title this one "happy feet" because Kels stuck the penguins on that way and said they were dancing.

Gay was especially amazed by this one. I think the word she used was meticulous. She said Kelsie was concentrating so hard and had to make sure all the hearts lines up perfectly!
This one is my favorite. Grandma Suzy made it. So cute!!!

Weekend fun

Kels and I had SO much fun last weekend. You know what we did? We spent time together. I wonder if its bad that the #1 person I want to spend time and have a blast with is a 3 year old... :) Here's a run down of what we did.
Friday night we watched Michael Jackson's This Is It. I had already seen it but Kelsie hadn't. She's had a love for the late MJ since she was born. I didn't take a single picture or video that night because I was up jamming and dancing with her. I love how intently she watches and tries to copy what she sees. She can now do the moonwalk and break dance. Go Kelsie, Go Kelsie!! I'll get it on video soon cuz she rocks it!
Saturday morning we slept in and then ate breakfast and watched morning cartoons together. She ended up with cream of wheat every where. I moved a chair over to the kitchen sink and let her scrub herself off. Then she noticed her roundly distorted reflection in the faucet and cracked up. That's when I grabbed the camera.

I feel a little stupid putting this pic of me on sans makeup or hairdo and sporting my gorgeously super-power glasses. I'm hoping in 10 years I'll get a good laugh out of it. This picture was taken at 10:32 am. We love our weekend mornings to sleep in!!

After all that fun, Kelsie had a bath and then a much needed manicure. She chose a stunning shade of purple with pink sparkles for the top coat.

I really love my weekends. Not only do they give me a good chance to go out and have fun but its usually my perfect time to get all caught up on laundry and house work, which is equally rewarding. Kelsie has really been my big helper lately. Every time I fold laundry she begs to help. I honestly have no clue who taught her the rolling technique but this is how she folds every thing! Gotta love it!

Funny things to say

I LOVE teaching Kels to say funny things. She makes me laugh all the time. Here are a couple things she said last week:

** The other day she had her hat on backwards and I said "Kels, look at Brittany and say Word Homey"! And she replied with "No. Word is stupid".

** I was having a talk with Gay and was telling her how wonderful she is. I said to Kels "tell Gay-Gay she's a saint" And Kels said "Gay-Gay, you a sink". What an honor!! I've always wanted to be a sink!

** Kels aways gets really defensive and protective if any one else is getting in trouble. She must have thought I was getting mad at Brittany because Kels gave me the look and said " I totally mad at you right now. That is NOT acceptable!". I started laughing and said "gosh Kels, who taught you to say things like that?" and she replied with "Boatney did". (That's how she says Brittany.)

** Larry was upstairs and let out a huge burp. Kels yelled up the stairs "excuse you Yarry!" I love how she says her l's like y's but even funnier was the fact that she called him by name and not daddy.

** Kels came in to the bathroom the other morning as I was getting ready for the day. I bent down to give her a hug and right then she sneezed. It was so big it knocked us both over. We were both just spraled on the bathroom floor. I don't think I've ever heard her laugh so hard!!

Perfect to me

I came across this article and fell in LOVE (click here). Its on the top of my list of things I want to teach Kelsie. Having just the right amount of confidence is crucial. I don't want her to grow up rudely critical or bratty. I do want her to know that there is much, much more to being beautiful than outer beauty. Kids (and sometimes adults) are ruthless and growing up is hard. All of these thoughts came on after watching Pink's new music video. It really got to me. I admit, I didn't just cry after watching it; I bawled! I think at some time in life everyone goes through bouts of depression- and I think that's normal to a certain extent. Life is hard sometimes. We all have trials and usually that's what makes us stronger and hopefully makes us appreciate the good moments even more. I want to tech Kelsie that I know she will have hard times and make wrong choices. There are going to be times when I get mad at her and there might even be times that she will hate my guts. But at the end of every day I want her to be proud of who she is and know that her mommy will always love her- no matter what!!!
