Shortcake PARTY

I planned a huge party for Kelsie's 2nd birthday. It was (her favorite) strawberry shortcake themed. It was held at our clubhouse and I thought it would be fun for it to be a surprise for her. Boy was I wrong! I think all the people staring and making a big deal was too much pressure. Mostly she just cried the whole time. Except for when she opened all her presents and got to eat cake. Then she was happy!I love this picture so much. Look at Kelsie's mouth. Ahhh.... Ok, so my big confession is that I was a huge strawberry shortcake fan when I was a little girl. I think that's why I've been so excited for this new generation of modernized strawberry shortcake to be around now. I think Kels loves her as much as I did. I know its all a little cheesy. Actually one of the presents from Kels's party made me sob. It was from my mom (Grammy Jo). It melted my heart that she kept them all these years and I had no idea.

Christmas

Christmas was so fun this year. Kels knew all about (and loved) Santa but I don't think she really understood that Santa brings presents. So that morning she was all smiles to find so many toys under the tree. Man, that Santa must really love her because she was so spoiled!Kels ran straight for the stroller, but then noticed the baby."Wait, there's more?!??"
Suzy, Jerry & Dave all came over for my mom's famous christmas cheese eggs breakfast. I'm bummed that I didn't take more pictires. This is the only one I took of Suzy reading Kelsie her new strawberry shortcake book.

Christmas EVE

We spent Christmas Eve with Larry's family at Grandma GG's and Grandpa Carlos' house. We ate yummy food, opened tons of presents, played in a giant elephant tent and of course danced. Talk about a fun party!!!
I think Kelsie now owns every stuffed elephant that's ever existed. You can never have too many of a good thing, right?!?
This is my favorite picture of the whole night. Most of us were watching Kels crawl out of the trunk. All except for Suzy who was playing in the back of the tent and poked her head out just in time for me to snap the pic. There was SO much yummy food. Kels chose mac-n-cheese instead.Kelsie kept bringing Lar and I all of her presents to show us. You'll see this bear in a later post. This is Kelsie demonstrating to Suzy & Micah what sound an elephant makes.
Dance baby, dance!
