Shortcake PARTY

I planned a huge party for Kelsie's 2nd birthday. It was (her favorite) strawberry shortcake themed. It was held at our clubhouse and I thought it would be fun for it to be a surprise for her. Boy was I wrong! I think all the people staring and making a big deal was too much pressure. Mostly she just cried the whole time. Except for when she opened all her presents and got to eat cake. Then she was happy!I love this picture so much. Look at Kelsie's mouth. Ahhh.... Ok, so my big confession is that I was a huge strawberry shortcake fan when I was a little girl. I think that's why I've been so excited for this new generation of modernized strawberry shortcake to be around now. I think Kels loves her as much as I did. I know its all a little cheesy. Actually one of the presents from Kels's party made me sob. It was from my mom (Grammy Jo). It melted my heart that she kept them all these years and I had no idea.

Christmas

Christmas was so fun this year. Kels knew all about (and loved) Santa but I don't think she really understood that Santa brings presents. So that morning she was all smiles to find so many toys under the tree. Man, that Santa must really love her because she was so spoiled!Kels ran straight for the stroller, but then noticed the baby."Wait, there's more?!??"
Suzy, Jerry & Dave all came over for my mom's famous christmas cheese eggs breakfast. I'm bummed that I didn't take more pictires. This is the only one I took of Suzy reading Kelsie her new strawberry shortcake book.

Christmas EVE

We spent Christmas Eve with Larry's family at Grandma GG's and Grandpa Carlos' house. We ate yummy food, opened tons of presents, played in a giant elephant tent and of course danced. Talk about a fun party!!!
I think Kelsie now owns every stuffed elephant that's ever existed. You can never have too many of a good thing, right?!?
This is my favorite picture of the whole night. Most of us were watching Kels crawl out of the trunk. All except for Suzy who was playing in the back of the tent and poked her head out just in time for me to snap the pic. There was SO much yummy food. Kels chose mac-n-cheese instead.Kelsie kept bringing Lar and I all of her presents to show us. You'll see this bear in a later post. This is Kelsie demonstrating to Suzy & Micah what sound an elephant makes.
Dance baby, dance!

Christmas Eve

We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas tomorrow!

Santa

Kels is in love with Santa. She has been so much fun this year. I don't think she gets what Christmas is or what's going to happen tomorrow but she definitely knows Santa. So we just HAD to take her to visit him. The second we walked into the mall she spotted him and said "ont Santa" over and over again. Then she saw the other kids sitting on his lap and started screaming "onna sit Santa lap". My brother waited patiently in line for us while me & my mom distracted Kels until it was our turn. Luckily it wasn't too long of a wait. So we walked up to Mr Clause and I plunked her down on his lap. She then turned into a freakin statue. She wouldn't look at him, talk to him or even smile. URG! He was such a cute Santa. When I went over to pay for the pictures he was asking my mom how old Kelsie was. He said she was so amazing and that not only will most 2 year olds not sit on his lap, they bawl when he looks at them. Ok, I guess we'll accept statue girl then. The best part was when we walked away. Holy major tantrum!!! I should have just left her there. She was screaming bloody murder "ont Santa" and kicking and wailing. Oh my. I think she loves Santa more than she loves me but I'm ok with that. ;)

Gay-Gay

We have the BEST sitter in the whole world!! The girls love their Gay-Gay. She gave them both the cutest puppies for Christmas. Kels has slept with hers for the past 3 nights. Gay does school projects with the girls and they have made the cutest things lately. They've made Christmas trees with circle stamp ornaments, reindeer antlers and even colored mittens. SO CUTE!

Christmas songs

Ok, so maybe I should have waited until after dinner to film the Christmas Choir. But then again, what's more Christmas-y than a mouth full of goldfish? I think my favorite part is during jingle bells. Kels got annoyed with something Brittany was doing and says "Brittany, stop it" and shoots her a major crusty. I think she knows she'll be 2 in a couple weeks and it practicing for the ultimate terrible two award. HO HO HO

I'm Grandpa

Everytime I get Kels out of the tub I have her look in the mirror and say "Hi Clean Kelsie". Well the other day she insisted she was Grandpa. So of course we grabbed the camera. Check out this video. Hilarious!!!

Bowling

We all went bowling for my uncle Troy's birthday. Kels had gotten a rough case of croup plus 6 teeth came in a couple days before so she was kind of cranky. But then she warmed up and wanted to dance on the slippery bowling floor and play in the arcade. Overall it was a really fun night!

Little Mermaid

We got tickets to see the youth theater perform the Little Mermaid at Kingsbury Hall. Actually it was kind of weird and I wasn't sure how Kels would do but she loved the songs and twirled all along the row. She could twirl for hours...

Thanksgiving

We spent this Thanksgiving at Steph & Reed's house. It was so nice to be together as a big huge family. The food was delicious. I always love the Thanksgiving feast. Picky eater Kelsie especially loved her peanut butter toast and vegetable beef soup. Silly girl!
This is Kelsie's cousin, Londyn. She loves her Londyn. Sometimes too much...
