Halloween Express

Kels decided that she wanted to be a black cat for Halloween this year. Although I am proud that is so so opinionated, sometimes I don't love her choices. Mostly I'm upset that by baby is now too old to let me choose her costume and dress her up super adorable. She found this cat costume on eBay and needless to say, I wasn't thrilled over it. I thought that maybe if I took her to a costume store that she would find something different and change her mind. So, we went to Costume Express in search of something fab. Plus I find it really important to show her all things scary and prove to her that its all fake. Then I remembered that it wasn't really necessary because this is my kid who has all her life loved to be scared and fascinated by freaky things. This is my kid who has watched ET for years and thinks its the best movie ever. So, we walk in the store and they had a 10 foot, inflatable, moving grim reaper. Kels walked right up to it and said "he wants me to be his sidekick" and then cracked up laughing. Man, I love this girl!! Then we walked down an isle filled with haunted house decorations. She pointed to a weird alien baby thing with red eyes that light up. I said "you know that's just pretend, right?" She nodded and I continued with asking her if she wanted to hold it. She shook her head no, so I thought I would use this as a lesson and pick it up and show her it was fake. My motion of picking it up set the think next it off and it jumped out at me. Kels & I both screamed and ran in opposite directions. After we realized what happened we were both in stitches laughing at our reactions. We left the store without buying anything but had so much fun inside. Although I complain that my kiddo is getting too old, I love that we can spend time together and have tons of fun.
